Today, while the majority of the group was on a sunset cruise, 6 others and I decided we would go on a hike. I was super excited about this leisurely stroll up this mountain called Lion’s Head. We planned to sit at the top and enjoy the incredible sunset of Cape Town. I have always enjoyed hiking and taking in the scenery around me. Lion’s Head really showed me who was boss. All the hiking that I thought I had done was a joke. Our nice hike turned into rock climbing or more like rock crawling for me. When I made it to the top I felt like I had achieved something great. Rock climbing is not that easy for 5-foot tall girls like my self and I really hope I can move in the morning.
Our hike, including the unexpected intensity was an incredible experience (good thing I like surprises). On the way we got to see many angles of the breathtaking landscape of Cape Town. We could see the entire city, ocean, and table mountain. I’m telling you… pictures just cannot do this place justice, people! You’ve got to come see if for yourself!
We met many new friends- all with different cultures and accents. Everyone was enjoying the sunny and warm weather of Cape Town whether they were running, walking, crawling, or paragliding around Lion’s Head. It was a challenging and memorable experience- thank you Lion’s Head.
